I have had 3 hair transplants over the last 10 years. This might seem like a lot, but it is rather normal. Generally, each transplant will cover one of the four regions on your scalp. As you get older, the various regions on your head lose hair density. You also should not do more than 2,000 grafts (i.e., individual hair strands) at one time. you can expect to have from 3-5 procedures over your life.
My first 2 procedures were very successful but the doctor who performed them was getting older. I switch doctors for my third procedure, I saw no noticeable hair growth or increase in density after the first year.
