How does dimple creation surgery take place at the Dezire clinic?
- A dimple formation procedure is normally conducted under local anesthesia and takes between 30 and 45 minutes to complete.
- A simple technique is used to select the location for dimple formation. When those with natural dimples suck in their cheeks, the dimples form in the area with the most depression. As a result, the person receiving treatment is asked to suck their cheeks to pinpoint the area with the most depression.
- Unless the person receiving surgery specifies otherwise, this location is usually used.
- A small incision is formed by our surgeon from the inside of the mouth after deciding on the spot for your dimple.
- Then the skin and muscles around that incision part are removed to give a scarring or dimple effect.
- Tiny dissolvable sutures are then used to connect the inner lining of the cheek with the dermis (inner layer) of the skin, securing the dimple in place.

You have to take medications for seven days which include anti-inflammatory, antiacids, and anti-biotics.
- Keep the incision site clean: Gently clean the incision site as instructed by our surgeon. Use a mild, non-alcoholic mouthwash or saltwater solution to rinse your mouth after meals to prevent infection.
- Avoid touching or manipulating the area: Refrain from touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the dimple area. This helps prevent infection and disturbance to the healing process.
- Maintain oral hygiene: Continue practicing good oral hygiene by brushing your teeth gently and regularly. Avoid brushing too close to the incision site to prevent any disturbance or irritation.
- Stick to a soft food diet: For the first few days after surgery, it is advisable to stick to a soft food diet to prevent strain or irritation around the dimple area. Gradually reintroduce regular foods as advised by our surgeon.
- Avoid strenuous activities: Refrain from engaging in strenuous activities, including intense exercise, for the recommended period. This helps prevent excessive swelling or damage to the incision site.
- Protect yourself from the sun: Protect the incision site from direct sunlight by wearing a wide-brimmed hat or using sunscreen with a high SPF. Sun exposure can lead to hyperpigmentation or scarring.
