How the earlobe surgery is performed at the dezire clinic?
- Our Medical counselor will typically take a medical history and do a physical exam. Health issues that can affect wound healing (diabetes, smoking, etc.) or bleeding (medicines, herbal preparations, etc.) may be discussed.
- Like any other procedure, they will be asking about the patient's goal, and then looking at the hole to determine the size and condition of the hole, along with the anatomy of the surrounding tissue. Some earlobes just need closure. Some need a more complex rotation of tissue. Usually, both earlobes can be done at the same visit.
- You will be most probably operated under local anesthesia and the procedure will be outpatient
- Your earlobes will be cleaned and numbed and then excess skin will be cut and removed.
- The tissues on the earlobe may be rotated depending on the particular issues you might have
- For the simpler splits, sutures are done to reconstruct the earlobe.
- A very fine scar comes after the procedure that will fade over a period of time.
When to opt for re-piercing after your earlobe surgery?
It is necessary to wait for 3 months before opting for getting your ears pierced once again. You should also keep in mind that the new piercing should not be in the same place and at least 3mm away from the previous one.
