First, a local anesthetic is used to numb the back. The cannula used to remove the fat is only about 3mm wide. Through the 3mm incisions, the surgeon slowly guides the cannula to the targeted areas to remove the excess fat with precision and resulting in less pain, bruising and downtime for the patient.
